So I relapsed, and there were good reasons to: flooding, falling out (again) with my 89 year old mother who is moving in with my brother and his wife, again (they threw out last time, financial problems, living with concrete floors, no curtains and a dehumidifier for more than 4 months, and more…
Now we have some semblance of order again in the house, I decided to up my game again around alcohol. The relapse was not total, but the stress of everything since November 25th meant I do not remember Christmas 24 at all — I slept through it.
Fast forward to Lent 2025 and it’s another matter entirely. I have been reading and writing extensively, sleeping better, beginning to exercise again, staying well hydrated and sloughing off the depression that enveloped me late last year.
And that is despite the ongoing problems…
I am decluttering, simplifying, making and carrying out plans, and tackling the rest of the year head on.
